Pennsylvania Title Transfers - Non-DOT - Dauphin County

For the meeting with the notary, both parties are expected to bring:

Seller:

• The original Pennsylvania vehicle title

• Government-issued photo ID (valid and unexpired)

• Odometer reading

Buyer:

• Government-issued photo ID (valid and unexpired)

No signatures can be made without the presence of the Notary Public.

Once notarized:

• The seller gives the buyer the completed title

• The notary does not process the title through PennDOT

• The buyer is responsible for submitting the title to PennDOT or an authorized Tag & Title agency

*** We are not a PennDOT agent, and we do not provide any PennDOT services such as processing title transfers, issuing license plates, registrations, renewals, or submitting paperwork to PennDOT. Our role is limited solely to notarizing the documents you bring to the appointment.

*** Once the title is properly completed and notarized, the buyer is responsible for taking the title to an authorized PennDOT agent or Tag & Title service to finalize the transfer with the state.
